John Robertson chairs the WorldFront Group of companies, including its subsidiaries in the United States and the United Kingdom. He has over thirty years of executive management and governance experience with public and private sector organisations in New Zealand, North America, and the United Kingdom. In his commercial life, his focus has been on international trade and investment. This has been complimented by his public life which provided him with links into the Asia Pacific Rim countries in particular.
John has chaired a number of governance boards over time, including a statutory corporation with in excess of $1 billion of assets (Infrastructure Auckland), successful start-up companies like the Fishpond Group and Sealegs Corporation, and local government bodies. He is currently on the Board of Regional Facilities Auckland and the chair of its Audit Committee.
He is a former Member of the New Zealand Parliament, where he chaired the Foreign Affairs and Defence Select Committee from 1990 to 1993 and the State Enterprises Select Committee from 1993 to 1996.
Ben has led the rapid expansion of the group as it has increased its revenue, geographic footprint and operational capabilities. He started his career with one of NZ’s largest law firms, before making a switch to a career in high growth technology companies. Ben has worked in senior management roles in a variety of industries including telecommunications, finance, and advertising, and also founded and sold a software development company.
Ben is also a director of several non for profit entities, and holds an LLB/BA in Law and Psychology.
Daniel is the founder of WorldFront and also a director. Prior to founding WorldFront, Daniel founded Fishpond which under his leadership grew into a multi-million dollar, multinational ecommerce business.
Daniel was initially studying electrical engineering when he realised a career in engineering didn't excite him. University seminars on entrepreneurship influenced Daniel to start Fishpond and WorldFront.
Maurice Bryham is a technology entrepreneur based in Auckland, New Zealand. In the last 20 years he has founded or co-founded a number of technology companies which have grown from startups to become large multi-million dollar companies, some of which were acquired by publicly listed corporations on the Nasdaq, ASX or NZX. He has extensive experience with multinational technology companies in marketing, product management, supply chain and manufacturing.
Maurice is the author of 20 international technology patents. He invented the Sealegs amphibious boat which from startup has sold over $150 million of amphibious marine craft worldwide.
Maurice set the World Record for fastest crossing of the English Channel by an Amphibious Vehicle which he took from the previous holder, Sir Richard Branson. Maurice is passionate about technology, innovation, product design and excellence in engineering.
Ross is the managing director of Direct Capital. He has been in the private equity industry since 1985. He established Direct Capital in 1994 following his return from Hong Kong where he had been a director and shareholder of the BKW Group, a Hong Kong based private equity firm.
Ross leads the firm's origination activities as well as having primary responsibility for developing and managing the firm's Limited Partner relationships. He has been the firm's director representative on a number of portfolio companies and is currently a director of: Bayley Real Estate and Cavalier Wool Holdings.
Roanne Parker has founded, partnered, grown and sold a number of companies across a broad range of sectors over 25 years. Today her commercial interests are predominantly in the areas of digital, technology and marketing data from where she has delivered expertise to many of New Zealand’s most successful organisations, and mentoring and support to earlier stage companies. Along with this Roanne brings the board M&A expertise, and an entrepreneurial viewpoint. Roanne is also an Independent Director of Meteorological Service of New Zealand and holds a Certificate of Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.
With over 16 years experience in the international corporate finance and banking sector, Natalie has worked across a range of industries, countries and regulatory environments. Her career began as a graduate in New Zealand and she has since worked in a range of countries including Australia, Europe and the UK for leading financial institutions including BNZ, National Australia Bank and GE Capital.
During this time she originated and structured large scale corporate and project finance transactions in sectors including energy & infrastructure, offshore oil & gas and transportation with a particular interest in renewable energy.
Natalie has been involved in the start-up of a number of UK based companies including a renewable energy provider, property & IT consultancy and online retailing.
Through her UK based advisory services she assists in the strategic development of companies as well as acting as non-executive Director on a number of Boards and well as providing expertise for a private company operating in food technology and commercial investment.
Lloyd is a Certified Public Accountant and is a partner at a US Certified Public Accounting firm. Lloyd has 30 years of combined experience in public accounting and private industry accounting. Lloyd has worked for a member of the “Big 4” and other international accounting firms, as well as local accounting firms. Lloyd’s experience includes companies in a wide range of industries with annual revenues of up to $1 billion.
Chris leads the finance function bringing with him practical experience building, leading, and advising technology based companies through international growth expansion. Chris has previously held senior executive roles developing and growing technology businesses globally in diverse sectors including robotics, GPS, sensor, consumer and industrial electronics. Chris holds a BCom from the University of Auckland and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
Sarah is leading the revenue function for the business. She brings with her over 20 years of business development and sales experience having previously held senior sales and business development roles in industries including professional services, logistics and IT. Sarah holds a BCom in Marketing Management from the University of Otago.
